Find Better Ways to Manage Your Company’s Content- Valutrics

With the volume of unstructured data growing by the day, an increasing number of organizations are assessing their current enterprise content management (ECM) strategies and practices to overcome multiple challenges, according to a recent survey conducted by Forrester Consulting for ASG Technologies. The accompanying report, “Today’s Enterprise Content Demands a Modern Approach,” states that companies are struggling to provide secure content that meets expanding regulatory and compliance demands. Many also must deal with legacy systems that limit ECM flexibility. Consolidation presents an issue as well, given that many survey respondents said they work with five or more different content systems. Among other IT-enabled improvements, they would like a single-system view of content throughout multiple repositories, databases and file systems. “Volumes of unstructured data stores are growing, while users simultaneously desire and expect access to information wherever and whenever it is needed,” said Swamy Viswanathan, chief product officer and executive vice president, ASG Technologies. “To manage that, enterprises must implement flexible content services architectures that enable well-developed processes and procedures, no matter where information is stored.” A total of 220 IT, enterprise architecture and operations decision-makers who are involved with content management took part in the research.
