The Cloud Plays a Role in Digital Transformation- Valutrics
A new study reports that while digital transformation is a top priority for enterprises, most IT decision-makers have not fully implemented the technology needed to address initiatives that are critical to digital business. The report, “State of Digital Transformation 2016,” defines digital transformation as “engaging customers via smart, connected devices (internet of things or IoT); using cloud services (Software as a Service or SaaS) rather than on-premises services or VPNs; and migrating to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).” The report also stated that for many enterprises, acquiring and engaging customers is a leading reason for going digital, along with providing employees with cloud and mobile apps. Cloud adoption is in the early stages, however. Security is also critical to success, but it is more complex, challenging and expensive. The research was conducted by Ping Identity and Regina Corso Consulting, which surveyed 200 IT decision-makers responsible for overseeing technology deployments at enterprises. Respondents from the United States work for companies with 50 or more employees. Those from the United Kingdom, France and Germany work at companies with at least 200 employees. Here are highlights of the report.
